   HA! Yep, I was thinking the same thing – otherwise you’ll use all the hot water out of the tank and burn it out. Or something like that.

   I do not think so. When you have no hot water, things are pretty miserable…It seems to me, in this case, with a little thinking and some timing, you could turn the heater off, and figure how long to let the tank set until the water is the right temp for a good shower. —- I think the person I know who has not had hot water, heat, or much way to cook inside for over a year would agree!

   Still, I have to wonder what you’ve done to cause this dilemma! My only guess is a pipe to your shower broke….I can’t think of many other ways to only have hot water and not cold!!!
